There are three lecture videos on animals.

The first discusses the earliest animals and the overarching framework of animal phylogeny.

There is a lot more to animals that what you see on Animal Planet. In this lecture, you will learn about the anatomical differences among animals, investigate the origin of animals and compare the diversity of the "primitive" animals: sponges, jellyfish, and coral.

The second video discuss the diversity of protostomes.

Protostome are a major group of organisms that include clams, snails, worms, insects and even squid.

The final video discuss deuterostomes, including vertebrates.

Deuterostomes include a major group animals you know and love, from whales and dolphins to you. However, there is a lot of strange diversity in this group. Did you know you were more closely related to a starfish than an octopus?
