Lab Tips: Meiosis

You should have complete the Cell Cycle module completely before starting in on Meiosis, as Meiosis is really just a variation of the Cell Cycle. 

At the very end of the lab (Fig. 15e), there has been some confusion from students. It asks you to label the one of the cells as the end product of meiosis as “sperm or egg cell,” as I have done below. This is specific to animals. A more generalized term would be “gametes.” I will award one extra credit point to your lab if you label this cell “gamete.”
